Congratulations on your pregnancy, period pain cramps could be a few different things so its hard to tell, talk to your doctor about it as it could be just brackston hick or the start of dilation, even the start of labour. Because everyine is different its very hard to say this is what it is without been your doctor and able to examin you properly. For this reason I recommend you see the doctor or midwife you have looking after your pregnancy.

As you are having them every half hour or so then the sooner you can see your doctor the better for you and your baby, as if it is pre-term labour maybe you can be given a drug to stop the labour to give your baby more time to mature inside you. If your baby was born now it would have a high chance of survival but would have to be in ICU for a number of weeks and monitored very closly, you would be sent home and have to return to hospital to spend time with your baby. This is why it is much better to have the baby inside you for as long as possible.

I wish you all the very best and hope you get checked out as soon as possible to be sure whats going on. Always better to be safe then sorry when it comes to your unborn baby. The very best wishes.

hi, i am 35 weeks and i was getting those period type cramps around the same stage and still get them sometimes. It could be just braxton hicks. You will still need to consult your doc and tell him what your feeling. This is my first pregnancy too and every little pain is something you find worrying. I tried walking around or hanging out some washing. That usually took my mind off it and they went away. The only time to worry is if they increase in intensity and become regular. Try timing them. That should put your mind at ease. Good luck and hope all goes well for you and bub.

have you tried walking a little or changing positions even laying down when they occur? if you haven't maybe you should. your baby could be getting ready for birth even though its 9 weeks from your due date. remember woman dont always go the whole 40. 2 or 3 weeks early is normal. take it easy until you make it to 36. i'm 36 weeks and walking around 3cm and 50% effaced and have been for almost 2 weeks. have your dr check you. if its your 2nd baby its normal to be 1cm at this point.

they could just be like braxton hicks very normal just time them if they r consistent and dont ever stop then u could be in labor , but do not hope to be in labor ur baby is still preterm, wait til 37 wks then the baby should be okay.

Sounds like Braxton Hicks to me...these are practice contractions...just your body getting ready. If they stop when you drink a glass of water and relax...that is what it is. Water won't stop real cntx!! Call your doc to be sure but it sounds normal to me. Good luck!!
