There is always an underlying issue that causes stress. There may be alot of things going on in your life right now that you can't exactly handle, your reaction is in the form of stress, lack of sleep and probably feelings of despression and hopelessness etc...
Try talking to someone, there are hotlines you can call anonymously where you can speak to someone. Maybe it's the fear of being judged and people knowing who you are? These helplines really serve as a means to let that frustration out, a way to relieve some of that tension.
Try a warm bath, or a cup of tea before going to sleep, try and unwind and focus on relaxing...clear your mind before you decide to go into bed, that way you can separate life and sleep and get a good nights rest.
I do suggest speaking to someone, try the hotline..see if it helps...even if you cry you won't have someone looking at you and judging you...anf if you feel uncomfortable you can just put down the phone...it's a win-win situation they don't know who you are and won't call back..you are in control....and control is important

You need to try not to get worried, try not to turn on to problems which upset you. Put the load on your mind behind you for a change, go some-where and have some fun, to the beach, partying with friends, unwind and relax. All work and no play makes Jill and also Jack a stressed out boy or girl.

The world has changed for many of us, and anxiety is a normal response. We can become paralyzed by our anxiety or we can figure out how to live safely but fully.
Ask for help if you need it.If you find yourself unable to function or if you are concerned about your level of anxiety, talk to a professional.
Spend time with family and friends.Talking with your loved ones about what is happening is helpful for both you and them.
Help your mind by taking care of your body. Get enough sleep each night (and if you're having trouble, talk to your doctor). Eat healthy and regular meals. Exercise. Lessen your intake of alcohol and caffeine. Try to stick to a routine for a while.
Take time to enjoy yourself. It is not wrong to have fun even during difficult times. Take time to return to hobbies or pursuits you have enjoyed in the past. Get out of your house and enjoy activities with friends and family. Invite people to your home.
Good Luck.Stay happy and CALM always.

address the problem thats causing stress, you've already made the first step by posting your question. but you need a professional to help you see if your doctor can get you a clinical expert for a session. don't take pills or any quick fix remedy offered. last year i took the cowards way and hit the booze full on, i wish to hell i had the courage to talk to a professional.

Chamomile tea before bed may help you sleep, and throughout the day it can keep you calm.
It sounds as if you may benefit from some counselling, to get to the root of the problem - good luck

i dont know about staying calm always
but you could try peppermint tea
exercising (running, cardio) to release the endorphines
yoga medetation (i need this)
dont try alcohol because yes its effective but not good for you (kidneys, liver, skin, spots etc)
do you know why you are stressed are you anxious?? as well
try to write it down and address the problem
if that does not work then see your doctor so they can refer you

anxiety can get the better of us. close your eyes gently and count to 25 slowly to keep calm and then share your anxiety with someone who you know can help you.
