It was absolutely essential about 50-100 years ago in the north of the US, Europe and Canada to help get the crops and the harvest in on time. It was found to save about 10-15% on electricity costs and became VERY popular in the northern hemisphere (most developed) part of the world.
Recently its introduction to countries which don't really need it, (like Mexico) has caused some upset there. But it is now used by so many countries of the "First World" that if you don't use it you will be "out of sync" with everybody else, so its use, (like the English language) is inevitable.........

Yes i do like day light savings. I use to live in a province that had day light savings and i grew up with it so to me it just makes sense in my region cause day's are so short but 2 years ago i moved to a province that does not believe in daylight savings time and it absolutely drives me up the dang wall!

No - I am a morning person and was getting up at 4:45 am and now I am waking up at 3:45 don't like it at all - I would rather have it light in the morning personally

No and never did. With children to raise the time change really messes up their schedule on everything!

It used to make sense, but in our modernized society it no longer serves much purpose.
I am eagerly awaiting the day when it is dropped worldwide.
