Copyright, 1987, By Charfles G. Saxe. Printed by H.O. Houghton and Company.
Does anyone know anything about this book, and is it worth anything?

Update (11/6) - I checked AbeBooks. An 1892 printing of the text referenced above is selling for $7. Depending on the precise condition of your copy, it could be worth a little more, it could be worth a little less.

If you have any distinguishing marks, owners name, any inscriptions, etc, that can increase the value of the book.

I agree with the second person to answer this - if it is 1987, probably not. the initial copyright of 1859 just means that was when it was first in print, so just because it first came out then doesn't mean it is of significant value now. Just think of The Bible. not to discount your book's worth, but it might not be worth much. Just the same, if possible, take it to a used book's dealer (look in the Yellow Pages or online for one near you) and ask them. They'll be the experts on this, not some random people answering your question on Yahoo.

If it says Copyright 1987 unless you have transpose the number and you mean 1897, the book is not particularly of any historic value. It's probably not a rare book. If it's a large book, that is discontinued maybe it's valuable. I don't think it's valuable as in some kind of collectors item.
If you had the 1859 version, then you would have something possibly valuable.

Yes, I am not an antiquarian but it is worth money. Don't know how much.
