What proof exists that your vote is actually, honestly counted?

I mean believing in god makes more sense than believing in voting! You go and vote and say well "they" will count that votes and thats that! HAHAHAHA. Well I'm going to church and giving a generous offering so I can secure my place in "heaven" HAHAHAHAHA It's even more absurd now that there are electronic voting machines.

no wonder more people vote for american idol. At least the winner there doesn't induce rectal hemorrhaging for years to come.

At this point, none. It's a matter of blind faith in the private companies that own and control the voting machines.

The best we can do is track exit polls, which show a rough estimate (within 1% to 2%) of what people voted for. But in a close race, there is no longer any means of proof as to the actual vote.

You have as much as you did before, when I walked out before the new machines, I got a stub of paper that only means I turned in a piece of paper, no way to prove it was counted property.

Maybe the counter liked the other side, how do you prove someone did not change it. Maybe some other party worker as they go though the papers throw out alot of ther ones they don'[t like

also each machine, at least the ones I saw on TV, also include a paper summary of all th voting on it

in my area in the small local elections it makes a big diffrence and does count one person not voting could mean the diffrence between a win and a loss for canidates

You can watch the exit polls as coragryph suggested, but there isn't much you can do!
