those movies they show are friggin depressing, but every woman i know watches that crap.... whats the deal?

the actors are typically B level at best, the movies are all the same, even though some are based on true stories, the movies are obviously dramatized heavily, and the women are always getting beaten, their kids are kidnapped, they're kidnapped, they're raped or abused mentally, sexually harassed, in court for some reason, they lose their jobs, etc etc. i like a serious movie once in a while, but come on......

what is so appealling about that channel's programming? i really want to know.

i understand that those shows are more "real" than a lot of big hollywood movies, but they're all the same! and yeah, they might be more real than say..... i dunno.... BATMAN, but of all the women i know, i dont think that i've seen any of them with .01% of the problems those women seem to have.

and if you learned life from that channel, you must think life sucks, because things are never happy in those movies. i agree, it seems insulting to women.

The same reason some women watch awful soap operas and read terrible romance novels, they're a form of escape and source of drama or excitement that they might be lacking their lives.

Personally I find lifetime to be insulting to women and is only worthwhile for a good laugh, not all women watch or enjoy it.

I think women tend to watch porn to get ideas about what they can do in real life. Women have a far more open opinion about what an attractive man is and I have yet to find any two women who agree completely on what makes a man attractive. Although women will call a guy handsome, they don't necessarily want to be with that guy, and they seem to be able to look beyond the surface stuff to what's inside and find that far more intriguing, far more desirable. So I would think that men fairly secure in their sexuality would only find women's interest in porn a good thing--maybe she'll want to try some of that stuff with him. Because ultimately, although women may fantasize about a lot of men, may fantasize about having a lot of different partners, in the end they want a man who they can trust, and trust has to be earned over time.

I like that channel. Mostly I watch Reba on that channel and the golden girls, and a few movies if they happen to seem interesting, but other than that, yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Most of the shows and movies are really boring and predictible, but it's not all bad!!!!

I agree with you, I think Lifetime sucks, its depressing. I believe women relate to this channel because of the experiences they had....The pity, the sadness, I can't relate, I am a happy person and don't need any depressing television channel to make me feel sad.. Excuse me but where is the box of tissue...I"ll pass on Lifetime ........EVERY TIME........

Because most women can relate to the types of story lines and characters Lifetime portrays. Some of those stories are true.
