I lived in Ohio and worked at a great company for 4 years and then I moved to California where I got another job but they just laid me off. I had to file unemployment through Ohio. My concern is that I wont be approved and I am freaking out because it is the first time Ive been unemployed and all of this is new to me. Can they turn me down even though I paid my dues at my last job?

I will say that I DID try to file through California but they ask if you worked outside of the state in the last 18 months and I did, I worked in Ohio so they made me go through there. Like I said I am new to this, and I am freaking out because they did tell me how much I could expect to be getting but now all of a sudden people are telling me I wont get anything. its confusing me

You didn't work long enough in California to have an Unemployment account ( I think it is at least 4 quarters) to be eligible. You did have sufficient time in Ohio.
What is happening is that your former employer in Ohio, has an unemployment compensation account established in that State. Ohio then sends the money to California, or directly to you.
There may be some question as to the amount - California may pay higher or lower than Ohio. Talk to the representative at the Unemployment Office to find out details.

Sorry to hear but U have an option to work online in your spare time. You wont make money like full time job but its fun to work and get steady money. I am a full time worker doing work online at home, so I can share my personal experience with you. When u are planning for a home based online business, be very careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site. Did you ever heard that if u r going for a job and employer ask you for money before hiring? After lot of search, I have found one website, where you can make $600 in a month working at home. The only work need to be done is posting a discussion and answering a discussion. the link is:
http://tinyurl.com/yhzzph
But there is nothing called free lunch and you have to work if you want to make more and more money. When i said $600, i meant in a month, if you will work hard you can even make $1000.. it all depends on your usage pattern. How u get money is through posting a discussion and replying to discussion. I worked for 1 hour daily last month and i got paid $238 for the last month. Its not bad after all, i am happy and making more
Please let me know, if you have any queries

Hey, I hope that this will help you out.
I promise...this company is not a scam.
I work for myself and from home. I do not sell, stock, pick-up or deliver anything.
There is no paperwork, no record keeping, and no overhead.
All I do is set up wholesale accounts for a catalog company.
The starting cost is $29.All of your business info is included in that cost.
This is a SOLID 20 year old, INC 500 company, with NO large investments, and NO RISK.
And if you are not satisfied, you get ALL your money back within 90 days.
This company is set apart from ALL other companies.
In two short years my mom, who is a stay at home mom,
is making very reliable, residual income.
This is not a MLM, or I would not be involved in this myself.

You should have to file through California. You can't draw unemployment from your old job if you quit. But as long as you weren't fired from this new job, you'll still be able to draw. I got laid off after working for a company for two months and was able to draw. Companies have to pay unemployment taxes by law. As long as you weren't fired and didn't quit, the government will pay you unemployment.

Usually, you have to be available to work in a state before that state will pay you unemployment. It will be hard to claim unemployment in Ohio if you live in California. Sorry.

Companies are after only one thing, money and when it comes to cutting down, people are the first cut. You were probably cut since you were new to that particular company. Dont worry, Im rootin for you
