My step father is from scottland and he moved here to marry my mother. Well I know that he has to stay married to her for atleast 10 years or he has to go back. So I am guessing 10 years. Could be wrong though.

I believe that you have to be a citizen to get a marraige license a long time a go people would get married ,a few months go by then get divorced. So I believe the parting spouse should be able to stay.

The minimum you have to be married for is three years. As long as you're married for three years or more you can divorce and stay in America.

Not sure what the statutes of limitations is, and it may vary state to state. Check with your lawyer or check with the local I.N.S. agency. They will give the answers you need.

Ask the Dept of Immigration! I think that is what they do, except trying to keep illegal Mexican workers out of US.

That may be up to immigration. If the marriage is real then I don't see a problem, but if they detect that it was just to get him citizenship.........then watch out!!!
