Oooh they scare me the most when I am trying to sleep!
I'm also afraid of the sound fireworks make...

i am 54 and i am still scared of storms. it's alright until they put out tornado warnings and then the fear level SOARS!!!! i live in Tennessee and a few years ago about 30 miles away they had several tonados in one night and several buildings, even a funeral home, were destroyed. School buses flying around in the air! SCARY!!!!!

I'm 28 and no I am not afraid of storms. The rains have an actual soothing sound. I think what you may be afraid of is the lightning. I don't mind it as long as it doesn't hit the power and knock it out.
Possibly the lightning, an accident with a loud lightning-type sound, etc. could have been triggered by a childhood memory that is currently making you afraid of storms.
I was actually thinking this could get the "whys" of why you're afraid by placing this question under the subcategory of psychology and/or health issues/mental health. (for better results)

I love them . However I been through 3 Tornados 2 catagory 2s and catagory 4 . The 4 with 16 deaths in1979 in San Antonio Texas area. Lightning and thunder are facinating. Tornados I would love to go Tornado chasing. Hell Ya

I do jump when the lightning flashes seem to close for comfort. But I'm not afraid of storms, in general.

I actually like thunder storms, at night on a screened in porch hehe...with lotsa lightening. Just not all the time cause mother nature is a beast beyond taming.

The only storms that scare me are the ones that spawn tornadoes.

only of lightning...almost got struck by it twice as a kid....one time it hit a tree 4 feet away from me and another time it hit the pavement about 10 feet from me (sounded like a whip )....whenever there's a lightning storm I get really nervous lol

i love em i used to sit on the porch durrinlightning storms when i was young round10-11 and im 23 i still love and so does my sone its like fireworks to him
