I used my Palm Tungsten E to play mp3s all the time. Pretty good sound, too! It's replacement, the E2 will cost about $200 US dollars. It has a standard mini headphone socket, so you can use any accessories that work with the standard headphone sockets.

Last week, I bought a Treo 700p. It also plays mp3s and WMA files, but it requires that 'teeny tiny' sub mini headphone plug, so you'll have to buy an adapter to use standard accessories.

I too recommend Palm OS PDA's over the Windows ones for the average user. Palm is more stable and crashes less, it's usually cheaper to buy, and you can get the same level of performance with less built in memory. (less memory requirements usually mean less cost overall)

As long as the PDA has an earphone jack to plug headphones into, you will be able to play music. Depending on the PDA you can look for and download an mp3 player. I use P-tunes on mine.

You may want to keep in mind that playing music can wear down the battery quickly, and keep an extra charger around

Any PDA with Windows will run Microsoft Windows Media Player and can play mp3s. You will just need external speakers or a cable that can plug into the headphone port.

All today's PDAs can play mp3. Choose a Palm powered device: they are easier to use than Windows Mobile for managing files.

Agree with the Palm advice, any big-name PDA can do although I feel Palm-based are easier to operate; but stay away from Z22 it is the only big name product that still can't, I have no idea why PalmOne engineered such product.

I listen the recent Treo seven hundred is powerful. I at present have a blackberry 8700r and plan on switching to the recent BB even as it comes out with mp3 and digital camera equipped-in. If i don't love the format or too extreme priced with Rogers, i'm probable going to modify to Treo. I hardly use the internet in my BB both.
