People are often scared of the truth far more than the consequences of a lie.

As one who used to tell the truth all the time, I'm starting to find out it does not pay to be honest. Now I lie like the rest of 'em. We live in a world that rewards liars and punishes those who speak the truth. Honesty is the worst policy.

a fren told me.. its ok to b an asshole.. but not ok to look like one. i guess the truth would make u look like one.. so thts y we live our lives convincing ppl we're better ppl than who we are.. bcoz the world insiston defying ppl as good or bad..and enevr seeing tht mostly..ppl are neither.. but both at the same time.. the world isnt very forgiving or understanding. noone sees reality..but an idealised version of it.. and this is y everyone doesnt speak the truth. coz we all live in a make believe world.

To not hurt others' feelings. Sometimes, it's best just to not say the truth unless the other person can laugh it off or take it lightly.
