Depends on where you live, what you can afford and how much you want to spend. You can stay close to where you are and enjoy yourself. Or you can also search out other places. How about swimming with the dolphins in Florida. Or going to Disneyland in California and then Sea World to see Shamu. You can find a beautiful Bed and Breakfast that is romantic, depending on which one you go too. You can go to places that are abit eccentric, such as Sedona in Arizona. And take a Vortex tour and have your chakra's realigned. So depending on how different or unique you want it you can really get creative. Let me tell you about my anniversary vacation coming up soon. December 31st we are going to California to just watch the surf and enjoy the ocean and while there on the beach we are going to read our vows to one another and give each other rings. Then relax at a nice resort and take in some sights, but then in the summer we are going to Reno to be remarried. Don't get me wrong we didn't get divorced. My husband came up to me not long ago and asked me again, "Will you marry me...again?" That took my breath away because he whispered it in my ear and I didn't even expect it. Of course, tears and I said yes. So this anniversay I will be celebrating my 30th! So if you can, no matter where you take your partner, make sure you make them feel very special with perhaps a piece of jewerly to help them remember your special day over and over again. Congratulations.

If you live in California or Nevada, then I would say Vegas can be a reasonable place to go for your first anniversary. You can find good weekend deals and even better during the week deals.

HAPPY ANNIVERSAY!!!

If you want to spend it alone...go to a remote island resort..or if you are not an outdoorish type, check in overnight to a nice and traditional B&B.
