Especially in high school...Sadly, sometimes it's even like this in the real world as well. Answer me this: Usually when a girl is a "dork" or is mean or shy but mind-blowingly gorgeous, nobody will care because her looks make up for her "geekiness." Yet if an unattractive girl is also a "dork" or mean or shy than most people will result to making fun of her or ignoring her. Why do people do this? Shy, pretty girls still get approached. Shy, ugly girls never do. I'm just questioning: why? If you have another argument, tell me!

Adolescence are usually trying to find their place in soceity. Making themselves feel more superior (so to speak) than others. Making fun of one individual based on his or her looks or shyness makes them look like the bigger person within themselves and their group / circle of friends even though it is downgrading the person they are saying it towards. It happens everywhere in soceity and it is something that we must all learn to deal with. The thing most people don't think of is every one is indivuals and that beauty is a thing that everyone holds. Inner beauty the most special unique thing on this planet and it makes us who we are. But you speak of the attractive girl compared to the attractive girl. Adolesent boys always goes after looks and with time it will change so don't let it worry you because within time you will meet that special someone who takes you for you and not just your looks.

I don't completely agree with Heinz M. Not all adolescence are immature, but he's right at some points.
I guess it's all about first impressions. Attractive girls make good first impression, although at some cases the beauty is just skin-deep. Most "shy, ugly girls" don't impress anyone at the first meeting (because of their shy-ness and ugly-ness), so not much people will get interested even if she's a nice girl.

why i actually aske myself the same question.
well some people tend to be assholes ***** dumbasses
thinking that they will make themselves feel great by doing something as stupid as this it really dont matter but this is a cruel world and guys usually want the type of girl they say on t.v or in the films and with the porn industry and models guys want to be seen with something very attractive and hot but usually its image that tv and porno and magazines and advertisements put out in the public i really dont care myself about looks on the girl i mean if i fall in love with who ever it is then let it be .
oh and girls in high school imatate what they see on television and in movies because again its the images that the industry puts out and they see that "ugly girls" never been liked so they try to make themselves look more beautiful and girls aswell wont approach ugly guys but its what the entertainment industry is putting out and the music aswell all you will see on the music videos is a pretty girl never ugly but thats the way it is and it sucks but thats life. i hope i was if some help but im sure you will find your answer maybe here or somewhere else .

it doesnt only hapen in adolescence. it happens through life... but esp adolescence. thts the main reason y young girls feel so bladdy insecure... even when theres nothin to b insecure about!! its bcoz men/boys!! are jus to shallow to look beyond outer beauty. and girls feel the need to look good alwiz to attract them... and even when u get the guy.. u gotta keep lookin ur best!! or there he goes dumping u for something new. its unfair and younger girls should b aware tht they r so much more than how they look!!! but how do u get tht thru when every form of media and everything aruiond them tells them the exact opposite? its a sad phenomenon!! u r so rite.. its so true. sigghh...

i completely agree with you... but honestly... from my perspective its actually about the way the girl carries herself that is attractive or not... if a pretty girl is a *****, its taken as "confidence" because she knows she's pretty.. if an ugly girl is bitchy it is just another excuse for people not to like her.
... and at this age... people are worried about their image which is reflected off of the image of the people they're associated with..atleast thats how i see it.
