The meaning of life is just to live!
The smartest theologians and philosophers have wondered about this very question since the beginning of civilization, but have yet to agree on one definitive purpose of living. Ironically, the answer they seek cannot be found in books. Had they been out in the world living and feeling and loving and experiencing they would have had their answer.
We did not come to this Earth with an instruction manuel, so we must make our own. Decide for yourself the meaning of your life. Choose a life that is fulfilling on your terms. Just make sure you are living and not merely existing.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

What do you mean by meaning? In this random, chaotic universe if there were any meaning to life, there would be no need for this question. As to the purpose of life, I've heard it said that the purpose of life is to create more life, an unbroken chain, the result of which is unknown. When this question comes up again tomorrow, I'll try to do better.

This material world is the abode of DEATH!The bigger entities eats the smaller ones-for survival!
True life is on the spiritual level,in the spiritual planets, where death doesn't exist,as well as anxiety,as everything is provided there.
Unfortunately,we have decided to be independant of God-prodigal sons-and so we have to fight for survival here.As soon as we realise that we have an eternal friend waiting for us-God-we are on the way to go there, provided we train ourself to behave as divine people, and not as rogues!
For example,do we need to kill animals to survive here? With only milk,grains/veg/fruits,as God asks us to do in genesis 1-29,we can survive, but most prefer the bloody diet of hate!
So, in order to qualify to enter the spiritual abode, stop killing:thou shalt not kill!
Another example:do you need all these intoxications, that make us a slave:cigarettes & other drugs?Such things are slowly killing you,and affect your subtle body, and spiritual life.
So,by listening to the counselling of sages,we can get nicer life, that can lead to the spiritual kingdom...

The meaning of life is different to every single person. Their meaning of life means only to them and only them. They could be trying to become a singer, rich, or just a plain person. The meaning of life only concerns to you and nobody else.

Life is existing temporarily on earth...
that's what scientific people i knew told me...
But it depends on how you see life... as for me,based on existing in this crazy old world, Life is Like a sea, full of suprises,
it used to be calm but then you'll see storms... then later on... fishes are jumping in and out... for
religon, God created man and started life so that we would praise him... what about you? how do you see life?...

I feel there is no true meaning or purpose to life. I mean really look around us...the first answer though thoughtful is truly wasteful! We go around killing one another and fighting religious wars, divorce one another, and so on and so on! I can't make sense out of this nonsense. Life is what we make of it and there is too much to consider in the spectrum of things....I like the answer given earlier....to die!

The meaning of life is very close to the concept of six degrees of separation.
Our challenge in this world is one. to be a person whose behaviors and thoughts will be adopted and employed by six people we meet. They then will meet six people who will adopt their version of my original behaviors and thoughts. This will continue for years until my original behavior and thoughts have been so refined that we are left with a Utopian perfection.
