Why dont I just buy a bunch of pop machines and watch my money grow? What are the costs? What do I need to know?

The drawbacks for something like that are:

-if you don't own the location your machine is at, likely the owner will charge you a fee to use the space and possibly a cut of your profit

- vending machines break down and people get frustrated when they lose money

- vending machines are targets for vandalism, especially if they're not in well-lit areas

Lots of people do that. The problem is that most good locations are gone everywhere. But, if you look hard u might be able to find some that are ok. Costs are not great, but don't expect to rake in dhow like it is pouring down the sky. You have rental, maintenance, depreciation, vadalism to contend with.
