I tried the pill and it was okay, no problems, I was simply young and would forget to take it. I then spent 2 years on the Depo Provera injection. The side effects of it were awful. I only weigh 110lbs and I think the injection was too much for my size. Now I am on the patch, it doesn't stay on, and I am concerned with the high amounts of estrogen. I'm basically an emotional wreck... I don't have health insurance, I go through a local non-profit woman's office. I refuse to pay for insurance because, well... Drug companies, reps, and doctors don't deserve money I don't have. SO, with that said, anybody recomend the pill? I was too young to remember it. Or is the patch working better for you?

Oh yes, I tried the Nuva Ring too, I forgot about that. Let me spare the details, it simply will not work. I have been engaged for a year, in this relationship for 3, please do not suggest abstinance. Thanks!!

I definately recommend the pill. If you are worried about high hormone level pills, try the low hormone pills. One choice is ortho-tri cyclen lo. I use regular Ortho-tri cyclen and its fabulous. Also, if you take the pill every morning when you brush your teeth, you wont forget. Trust me!! :)

Have you heard of an intrauterine device? It is a device that prevents pregnancy, and is safe to use. It is place by a physician, and prevents pregnancy for up to 5 years. And, upon the decision to become pregnant, you just have it removed. Other than that, there is also the Nuvo-Ring. It is an insertable plastic device that secretes a certain amount of hormone, prevent pregnancy for roughly 21 days. These are two alternative you could look into, other than condoms and abstinence.

I really like the Nuvaring. It's a ring that you insert into your vagina, you leave it in for 3 weeks, take it out and insert a new one a week later. You don't feel it. And unlike the pill you don't have to worry about taking it every day. You just have to remember when to take it out and remember to insert a new one. Write it on the calender. And I think it's more effective then the pill. But I would recommend it to anybody

Many people like Seasonal or the new Seasonique. You have a period only once every 3 months (4 times/year). And yes, it's safe to have a period only 4 times/year!

If you can remember to take it, take the pill, their are several different types you can take. Talk to your doctor about what your options are, and tell them your concerns. They will be able to help you out the best.
