Your magnitude of heat is called temperature.

For any object:
applied heat = heat capacity x raise of temperature

For any amount of matter:
applied heat = mass x specific heat x raise of temperature

The temperature of an object is a primary unit of measurement not dependent on any other measurement such as mass or time.
Heat on the other hand is a measurement of a CHANGE in energy. Either heat is lost or it is gained. To find the heat involved you multiply the change in temperature by the mass of the object by the specific heat capacity of the object. The answer is in joules. There is no direct relationship between the (static)temperature of an object and heat - until heat is transferred. You can also give an object heat energy without the temperature changing as when ice at 0 C melts to water at 0 C.

You can calculate by the difference of magnitudes of heat, the amount of it required to such difference, you have following relationship:

Q = m C Dt

Where Q is the amount of heat required to increase Dt temperature a substance or object of mass m and of a heat capacity C.

the amount of heat contained in a body is measured as Q = mass x specific heat capacity of the body x change in temperature where Q is joule and temperature in kelvin (or in Celsius)

to have a bigger magnitude(in Celsius) it is essential to apply more heat(joule and calorie). but it is not enough.
Sometimes (for instance in the materials with high "special heat") you may apply calorie but won't see change in heat magnitude.
