there is no need to pump and dump for 24 hours, pump enough so that he can eat while you are out, but you only need to wait for three hours after drinking to feed him again, the alcohol is out of your milk in that time frame. Once you start drinking, feel free to pump and dump if you are uncomforably full, but there is no need to throw out the milk, your body replenishes it just as any other fluid. Be sure to stay hydrated though, that can effect your milk, and cause a hangover...neither of which are fun with an infant. Have fun!

Everything you drink or eat will show up in your breastmilk... meaning if you are breastfeeding and you have a drink of alcohol so does baby...
You can either not drink alcohol at the party or express milk enough for 2 days after the party so your baby can drink that instead of straight from the breast until all traces of the alcohol leave your system... (I say 2 days instead of 24 hours to err on the side of caution as each person metabolizes alcohol differently and better to give more time than less)
If your child readily drinks from a bottle expressing then pumping and dumping is a great option so your child gets what he needs and you can have a few drinks if you want...

You DO NOT need to pump and dump. Pumping & dumping DOES NOT speed the elimination of alcohol from the milk. Alcohol leaves your milk in the same way it leaves your bloodstream. If you feel sober enough to drive, you are sober enough to nurse. If your head is clear, your milk is too. The ONLY reason you might want to pump is if you get engorged and need to make yourself comfortable!
You CAN have a couple of drinks with no problem. Just pump or nurse right before you go out for the party to lessen your chances of getting engorged before you nurse again.
Drink in moderation, but a couple of alcoholic drinks are not a problem. Less than 2% of the alcohol consumed by the mother reaches her blood and milk.
The American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Drugs classifies alcohol (ethanol) as a “Maternal Medication Usually Compatible With Breastfeeding.”
It is recommended that nursing moms avoid breastfeeding during and for 2-3 hours after drinking (Hale 2002).

donnot pump and dump. All you ahve to do is wait a few hours 3-5 after your last drink and you should be fine. Perosnally I only dumped 1 bottle after drinking. But you also said 1 or 2 drinks not liek your drinking a gallon of vodka so you should be fine

yes. yes. yes. i have taught breastfeeding class many years, you can go to the party, but you need to pump off the milk that has alcohol in it.pump/dump...yes please. just pump some extra milk before the party and save it until your 24 hour period is over. remember, their brain cells are alive and growing, and you know what alcohol does to brain cells. no babies have extra to spare. you are a good mom for checking first. you must love your son a lot. have a great bacholorette party, and dump that milk!

Stick with water and sodas...why would you want to put alcohol into your baby's body..and that is exactly what you would be doing. No one needs a drink that badly...and surely you do not. Go out, have fun, but leave the alcohol out of it. If on the chance that your child has the gene expression for alcoholism, we do NOT know what turns it on, why take a chance?????

Stick to water and sodas unless you want to pump and waste the milk. Alcohol is not too healthy for your little one and that is what he would be getting if u drink and then breast feed.
