When returning items always make sure you have delivery confirmation, so you have the proof that the seller received your item. The seller refunds your money through Pay-Pal. If you know he/she got the returned item and still did not process your refund, go to the dispute console and file a complaint against the seller.

I recenlty went through a bit of an ordeal with ebay/paypal. In the end I got screwed out of $30. But in response to your question if I remember right you should have a message on your paypal account asking you to confirm the refund or something like that.

Contact the seller to receive a refund. If they don't refund your money, contact eBay and PayPal.
