Well yes, just give them your screen name and password in your will and they will keep the account active I am sure. What a great idea.

This is probably best answered by yahoo admin if they care.
My guess is they don't. If your kids have access to your password, they have full access to your account. All they will need to do is go into the settings and change your name to their own and, if it is a paid account, update the credit cart payment info with their own. If there's any questions, it will be easyer to explain if their last name is the same, but it is unlikely.
IMHO, however, rather than taking over your account, they should just DL all info they need/can use from it and let it expire. It will confuse people if they see e-mail coming to them from your account after you've passed on. Cool as Yahoo is, they don't have the whole 'beyond the grave-E-Mail' up and running yet. Something about running fiber to heaven being too costly. . . *G*

Good question, but here`s a better one ...........if I die, will my wife/husband and kids see all x-rated sites I`ve visited, along with the e-mails and instant messages and pics I`ve exchanged with other men/women and the adult theme chats I`ve had with the opposite sex in chatrooms. If u`ve never done the above, I wouldn`t worry about the wealth of info u`ll leave behind. Your kids will be gathering their own, so rest in peace.

Not sure if you're serious or not, but I have often wondered what happens, particuarly to myspace accounts when people die. I've actually found sites that have comments on them reading RIP or I miss you have fun in heaven etc... so, I hope you get to the bottom of this ;)

Very interesting question. I dont think it is a legal matter but you could see that they find the password when you die so they can use it if you like. I have always thought it a good idea for my family to inform my friends on messenger when I die.
