Lullaby nursery rhymes are what usually put babies and todlers to sleep. As for me, I listen to The Chillout Project--a compilation album that has been done by one of the top DJs here, in the Philippines (Anton Ramos--Google to find out about him). All of it's tracks will literally "chill you out". It relaxes you, puts you in a good mood, calms your mind and easy on the ears. Some other genres you can listen to are ambience music: sounds of nature, such as birds chirping, water falling down from its falls, wind chimes would help with the accompniment of woodwind instruments would help too. Acoustics and instrumentals are also a good way to help you relax when you've had a stressful day, or simply just want to take a snooze. Hope that helped you. :)

Well, Im not sure aout any jazz songs, but Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd always puts me to sleep. Its rock but its slow and comforting and if you play nothing but that in a low enough volume you can barely hear it. When I do that I'm usually out like a light.

The Damien Rice album is quite easy listening. they're best known for the Blower's daughter from the movie Closer. So is James Blunt's. there's also a wonderful album called Classical Lullabies which has very light instrumental pieces--very soothing.

Kenny G.'s Christmas album always helps me. it's mellow in a soothing way. It won't put you into a coma like a John Tesh CD.
