I'm making books as hobby now and I don't know if I shoud use MS Word to print them...cause I have some questions ^-^; When I go to "Page Setup" and choose Book Fold, it gives you the option of "Sheets per booklet" and I was wondering what it means?

All of the multisignatures in my handmade "book" would have 6 sheets total, making 24 pages/sides at the end. What option would I choose? Does MS Word print them in different order than what it would have done for a regular document? Will it print two of those formatted half-sized pages onto one paper?

(Or is there another free program that does this work for you? The only one I know that could help is MS Publisher but I think it costs extra money.)

Thanks!!

For your 24 page booklet you will have 6 sheets of paper so choose 6 sheets.

You type your last booklet page as the first document page and the first booklet page as the second document page. e.g. Page 24 and page 1

Then you will type page 2 and page 23. These pages will be printed back to back

See the pagination layout of an 8 page booklet at the site below.

It is a good idea to make up a mock booklet with 6 sheets of paper and number the pages so that you can tell which pages are printed together and you can also plan the layout of your content.
