The minor details I failed to mention. This whole situation started this summer after he had told me that he had always loved me since he first met me, and that he sat and waited for me the entire time what I was in my three year relationship with another guy. We kissed that night, and have only kissed like three times since. I've fought with him numerous nights about it because I know how it feels to be cheated on, and I feel horrible for the kissing because of his girlfriend. I was given the opportunity to tell her the truth, but I lied for him and myself because regardless of it he stayed with her or not, I didn't want to ruin our friendship. We've been best friends for nearly five years. And I don't want to ruin what we have. He told me to be patient. That he sat and waited for me for three years, and that I should be patient and wait for him. That I should allow him to be with her and we will eventually be together. So, should I wait?

His best friend told me last night that he does love me because I was his first love, but he also loves his girlfriend because he's there right now. He thinks I should let them have their time, but I don't want to have to wait forever. His best friend also said that he's probably scared that I'll go back to my ex when he comes back to town, which won't happen because my ex cheated on me like 10+ times!

if he really waited for you 3 years...he wouldnt be with his girl now.why do u have to wait for him when you can go out and date other guys out there who could be more suitable for you?in love, you got to be selfish.how sure are you that you will be with your best friend?if you want to wait, date others while waiting...you are not tied to him.live your life freely.

No you shouldnt wait. However, if it is meant to be, you will be free when it is "your" turn again.

Move on for now.
