Not at all. Saddam has nothing to do with the way America places in the world, and we shouldn't have even invaded Iraq in the first place. Votes should NOT be solely based on this.

No.
I suppose his conviction could (very, very marginally) alter public opinion to be more favorable toward the war in Iraq.
But I doubt it'll have much of an effect.
Also, while I see a lot of people smugly declaring that this is a ploy by Bush himself to drum up support for the war, I don't see anyone crying foul over the Haggard scandal, even though THAT revelation miraculously surfaced during election week as well.
And I'd like to see more public discourse about the recent rash of killings in Iraq and similarities to the Tet Offensive.

No. If anything it is:
(a) a reminder of how many American lives, and how much money we spent to catch ONE GUY; and
(b) a reminder that if our goal was to get Saddam, then WHY ARE WE STILL THERE?
But, since I didn't need reminding, I can't honestly say it affects my vote.

People can't be that shallow to judge the success of this invasion on a death sentence. Make sure you vote and join the party at the polls:

Um, NOPE! Saddam didn't do anything hostile to our country, besides want to control his own oil fields. Now, wait a second, where did Osama Bin Laden go while we went on a wild goose chase killing thousands of Iraqi citizens? Oh, oops, we lost him and triggered a reaction of new terrorist groups forming from the hatred of our military invading their country! Yikes! Now we're in BAD! Oh and did I mention Europe hates us now? Yeah. I know who I'm voting for and it's NOT the ******* who sent us over there so Bush could beat his little chest!

absolutely.this is no coincidence.this is just another ploy by our president to try to manipulate his own people again as he has been doing for 6 years.the fact that verdict is due a couple of days before a big election shows you who's really running that trial.which ticks me off.the united nations should be handling that trial.our president is getting away with believing he's the ruler of the world or something.that fact alone should get people to vote democratic if for no other reason than to balance the power.i will never vote for any bush supporter for the rest of my life.this administration has made us look stupid by some nations and has made us a target by others.

No . But I will vote for the party who I feel will most assure me that America is worth keeping free . When we take our freedom for granted , we could loose it . My vote is determined by who wants to protect my country's freedoms .

No. It is pretty much irrelevant to US elections, the timing seems like manipulation, and the only big surprise would be if he were not found guilty.
