Once again the SEC is way over rated. Georgia completely stinks. . . Auburn stinks. . . . Tennessee is way over rated as always and LSU is probably the only fairly legitimate team in the whole conference!! Arkansas. . . well. . . . reality will set in over the next few weeks as well.

... while I think it may be a bit of a down year for the SEC... I mean who do you think is better?

Everyone always talks big, but then when they start playing, all of a sudden a Cal team that dominates the PAC gets crushed by a Tennessee team that very average in the SEC...

now, very good teams can compete, like your USCs and Ohio states... but year after year, the SEC is a tough place to play... it may not always be the same teams... but you didn't even mention Fla...

I mean this year... the big Ten may be better... but that's not usually the case... and if those in the middle of the Big Ten were playing those in the middle of the SEC... my money would be on Tenn if they are playing Purdue...

and outside of the big ten... i just don't see it... ACC can't compete... big 12 has a couple of good teams, but not the depth...

the SEC teams have a combined record against non-conference opponents that is amazing. this is the only real measuring stick that you can use to compare conferences..

it's really tough though, overall, to compare conferences. and it's unfair for one to be considered better simply because of some sort of pre-concieved reputation.

at least the bowl season will give SEC teams a chance to play against other top teams from other conferences.. then we will really find out how good these teams are!

You want overrated this year, let's talk the Big Ten. Beyond the top 2, 8 of the other 9 blow (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue) and Wisconsin, albeit with only one loss, hasn't beaten anyone of note.

For those who think the Big XII is underrated, take a look northward and see the cesspool that is the lack of anything resembling talent amongst Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, and Nebraska.

You're right, the SEC has always been overrated. I don't know why, probably because some of those states don't have an NFL team.

Because the toughest conference is the Big 12. And we get no respect because ESPN always supports the SEC.

well I want to know what conference you think is underrated b/c the SEC is right there and a tough conference to play in b/c of the bottom teams. So I don't think they are overrated but overhyped at the moment
