i would have said VII, but then i would be lying. VII didn't bring anything new to the table other than being the point of when companies stopped focusing on character development, and story, and focused on looks instead. the story was a ripoff of many stand-alone novels, and the magic system was rehashed from VI. there was nothing original about VII. limit breaks weren't even new. shadow from VI had random breaks where his dog came and tore up the enemy.

VI, many people say is the best, but i don't agree. i liked it well enough, but it wasn't great.

I i thought was great, but not the best.

the best? it was FFIV advance. i liked it on snes, but the gameboy version really was better.

it not only had a storyline that determined where you went and why, but your main character was even CHANGED by the storyline.

the battle system was great, and i believe it was actually revolutionary. magic was well in place, and fully effective. each of the characters had a real reason for being where they were. it wasn't like yuffie, who had absolutly no reason to fight sephiroth.

FINAL FANTASY 7.

it isnt the best by a longshot, but it is the best. it revolutionized how far and large a game can go on the playstation counsel. Its story was extremely appealing, abosorbing, and left you with a smile, and with hope. This game, it was so perfect, and the graphics at that time, wow, truely amazing. I have no idea how square did it, but they did it to perfection. If there is one game you keep forever, it is this one. It leaves you making so many choices and is the PERFECT RPG. I would love it if they made a remake on ps3.

now dont get me wrong the others were all good besides X-2, but this was the base of them all after 7.

It shows you that the ideas are limitless.

define best?

Technically? FFXII hands down. never seen a game with better quality etc.

However I still prefer FF7 over it for like replay-ability. that may change once i finish XII. 7 was just so much fun to play. rushing levels just so i could pwn everything.

lol i had Aeris all ready for her Level 4 Limit. and i didnt even have Vincent or Cait Sith or Cid yet...

I like the FF series because if you're watching or if you're playing it's entertaining because it's a movie basically, but I would have to say 7 and 10 (BLITZBALL BABY!) I can play it for hours.

Quite frankly, 7 is the best. It revolutionized the series into 3D.
