Alot of people told you to use Spybot Search & Destroy. The owner is a personal friend. And the program was built by students in University, Germany. Friend or no friend, I tested the program and found it of no value to protect you from spyware.
Finds a few cookies an always "DOS". plus the scan will frezze up on you alot.
In my personal opinon, an I use both, below in my system and they are excellent state of the art technology.
http://www.ewido.com This company was Ewido out of Germany and was purchased by AVG out of Prague. The name has been changed to avg, antispyware. Excellent program that is not free, but will become free if you don't purchase in the thirty day evaluation period. They will just remove the background scanner and the auto updates. You will have to update on a manual basis. Finds what other miss. Scans all 195,000 files in my system.

Download their free version of A2Squared. Equal to the one above and finds what other programs will miss. They will ask you for your email address so that they can send you a free key.
http://www.lavasoft.com Ad-Aware Se Personal from Sweden has been around long before anybody ever even thought of spyware. Now I think they are going down hill. You can download thier free home personal use version.

There is no such thing as No. 1 spyware remover.. believe me.. even the humblest ones could find and remove some spyware which the top-notch ones could not.. I use 5 of them in tandem to keep my pc clean.. here are some good and free ones

One of today's best spyware program is Spybot Search & Destroy which you can download for free by going to www.google.com and typing it into their search box. After the download and installation to the hard drive is complete, be sure to restart the computer so that the new changes can take effect. I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...!You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

If you have a good ISP (internet service provider), it will provide you one free of charge. Comcast provides Pest Patrol. Other good ones are Microsoft's Windows Defender, Lavasoft's Ad-Aware, and Spybot Search & Destroy. It's good to have more than one anti-spyware program; what one misses, the other may pick up.
