The highest ZIP Code is in Ketchikan, Alaska, 99950 which is for post office boxes. I believe that's the answer you were looking for.

My zip code is 95380 and I live in Turlock, California (between northern and central CA). I know there are higher ones than mine but that gives you an idea of what is here.

so in the us...it goes from east to west...
and the west coast has 90000...and so on...
in washington they have 98312 and some higher than that but i havent really found anything real big lately...
