My naighbor who is a firefighter, has folage growing out of his chiminy and I mean a lot of it. He is a bit of a jerk but I am trying to decide if I should tell him or point and laugh. What would you do? So far I have been laughing but it hasn't been really cold here yet. We are in Florida.

He is a jerk because he just is. I have tried being nice. You can't be nice to people like him. Eventually I will probably do the right thing and tell him. But its more fun right now to make fun.

If he works for the law, DO NOT point and laugh. Maybe he is a jerk because he isnt a big fan of the way some kids your age act. I would tell him, and maybe he will appreciate you more. Or maybe he knows, and he dosnt have time to do anything about it. You can never know unless you ask. So do what you think is best and will land you in the least trouble in your mind.

why does it bother you? Have you ever thought that maybe he is a bit of a jerk because he puts his life on the line to safe idiots all the time and hasn't had time to do anything about it..... instead of laughing you could try smiling and saying hi, he might surprise you and say hi back......

Well since you have already laughed, I would let him know about it. He may make a turn for the best when he sees someone being polite to him.
Also, you would feel bad if he tried to use his fireplace and this foliage hindered him or caused an accident.

umm well maybe you could tell him with like a little smirk so you have the kind of like it was a dumb mistake but its okay, sort of attitude.I wouldn't point and laugh though

Maybe if he doesnt notice it could become a fire hazard, but maybe he already knows about it and likes the way it looks.

You should tell him. He could get some not so friendly rodents or insects living in there and you don't want that to happen.
