My mother is fifty-one years old. Sometimes when she is out in public (like a shopping mall) she notices that other women about her age will glare at her for prolonged periods of time. Not look, but flat out glare. This has happened much more than once. My mom very attractive for her age, a little overweight but overall looks at least fiv years younger and has a lovely face -- do women still get jealous at the age of fifty? What's the deal? It makes her a little nervous... LOL

I am 55 and I know that some women never get over the whole junior high mentality. They feel that any women that is attractive is a threat to them. It is so stupid and silly. Be proud of your mom for being attractive and remember that part of her attractiveness has to come from inside. he women that glare at her are just jealous and don't realize that they are not improving their looks any by doing all that glaring! LOL

Hmm, that is really interesting. I suppose it's quite possible that these other women are quite jealous of your mother's good looks, when they are about the same age and maybe don't feel so pretty themselves. I guess there isn't much she can do about it but smile politely at them, and just keep doing whatever she is doing, and ignore them. Glaring without a reason is just rude!

i waited tables for years, and found through extended contact with middle aged women that some (not all by any means) seem to be intimidated by younger, fitter, or more attractive women. this is just a theory, but after years of testing it, it seems to ring true. maybe it's the fear of losing their youth.

The way you asked that question it sounds
like you think 50 is almost dead .
I'm 52 and my libido is very strong !
So yes women in their 50's can still get
jealous !

Yes, could be jealousy, could be simple non-jealous evaluation, could be their mind is somewhere else entirely, could be fashion thought, and LOL, it could be that they forgot their glasses and can't quite make out what they are trying to see. :)

I'm not there yet, but my eyes certainly are ahead of the rest of me.
