The "war on drugs" has always just been an excuse for the United States government to control immigration and trade, this is well documented.

This, in combination with the fact that there are millions of dollars being spent on imprisoning non-violent drug offenders when there are violent sex-offenders on the streets because of supposed overcrowding of jails, is disgusting.

More people die from drinking alcohol than smoking marijuana. Besides, who ever gets stoned and thinks.. "Um I wanna go get in a fight or rob someone or do ANYTHING other than have a freaking snack and chil with some friends.

This is misdirection, plain and simple. Those in power would like us to believe that it is okay to drug people up until they have no individuality as long as rich people are making money off those drugs and they come from proper pharmaceutical companies; but not okay for the average person to pick up a joint and actually want to talk to people or question authority for half a second. COME ON!? Where are our priorities. The money that could be made by the government would be amazing by just controlling and taxing the crap out of it, then they could control quality and distribution and make more money than they currently make off of tobacco which kills MANY more people every year than marijuana could begin to deal with.

This is a matter of priorities. Let's focus on things that REALLY MATTER. Let's get kids off coke and METH (which will absolutely eat your brain). Let's make sure that everyone is eating food, EVERYDAY, and getting and education before we try to control what other things may or may not be going into thier bodies... especially when those things sometimes have a real medicinal value for some people who really deserve some relief, like cancer and AIDS patients, not to mention all those peole getting Ritalin and other drugs like it.

I think, it is just time we had an HONEST dialogue about this, without all the BS that gets tossed up because people are afraid and/or misinformed.

What government are we talking about? Canada? Yes, I think we should have it legal here. U.S ? Nope, Canadian growers make a lot a coin off the American "pot-head". So, keep your "war on drugs". And we will keep letting people grow a whole bunch of it for sale in the US.

Without a doubt yes, it's long over due. You will never....ever stop people from growing and smoking pot, so legalize it, regulate the potency & tax the hell out of it. Case closed.

Somkin reefer is cool, but the goverment could never do that. It would just set the wrong exapmle. All those years and all those millions of dollars spent to stop kids from smokin pot would be wasted, its too late now.
