Metallica is fantastic and all their songs are too, but there has to be one that you like just a little bit more than all the rest? Which one is it for you and why?

True, I didn't include me own favourites.
#1..is, ironically, One. I love the way it builds up and then they sing "I cannot live, I cannot die...". Solo is fantastic as well.
#2..is Wherever I may roam, jsut becuase it sounds good.
#3..is Master of Puppets, for the same reason that everyone else likes it =)

Enter Sandman was the song that got me intersted in Metallica in the first place. Once I started listening to all of their other songs, I'm partial to Master of Puppets, One, Breadfan, Blackened, and Seek & Destroy. I can't really tell you why these songs, are so great, they just are. They lyrics are fantastic, the music is phenomenal, and the more you hear them, the better they get.

Enter Sandman because, it made Metal mainstream again.
Metal, will always be arojnd in one form or, another but We almost lost it it the late seventies (saved by JUDAS PRIEST) and, again in the late eighties (METALLICA). it seems we get in this pattern about every ten to, twelve years and, some band that becomes legendary, steps up to the plate to save the genre.
I'm 46 and, have listened to metal all of my and, metals lives. Rock Hard, Die Free !

Master of Puppets is by far my favourite song. I like the lyrics and it was the first concert that I saw of them. They rock!

Like many other fans, my favorite song keeps changing. Right now it's "Where the Wild Things Are", off of their "Reload" cd. The reason I like it is because its such a great song, both lyrically and musically.

I agree that Enter Sandman is a great tune. I love their earlier stuff; For whom the bell tolls, fade to black, sanitarium and battery to name a few on my faves list. You didn't mention your faves.. which ones you like?
