Strange question. I've seen Democrats fight for free speech over the years, but I've never had the pleasure of seeing a Republican give a damn about it - until they are the ones getting criticized. Then they scream up a storm about it. Congressional oversight is critical right now, King George needs to have his crown removed. He needs to be reminded he is an elected official, not a ruler. Free speech? We all enjoy that privilege and I don't know any American who doesn't make use of it.

I believe your free speech comment is incorrect. I would say that the ACLU (a liberal organization) defends free speech to a fault.

You are right that we love Congressional oversight though. It will be nice to be rid of our shameless rubber stamp Congress.

I think political correctness would be the logic used to criticize John Kerry's joke. That shameless bit of propaganda was orchestrated by the Republicans. Not liberals.

I would disagree with your comment about liberals hating free speech. They love free speech as long as it's something they can agree with like anything on NPR or Air America. But let Rush, Sean, Glenn, and the rest say something they don't like then they need to be censored and what better tool than the Fairness Doctrine. Even their favorite pit bull the ACLU will defend your right to free speech all day long as long as you aren't speaking about religion in a public place. You really don't need to look any farther than this web site. If you post a question they don't like they will report you and get the question removed, hence censoring what they don't like. But you can ask all the military hating and Bush bashing questions you like and you will never be censored. It's hypocrisy.

um ... you ask that when GW Bush has "free speech zones" set up miles from where he's giving speeches to people who have to take a loyalty oath to stand there and listen and when the Bush admin has been trying to gag scientists who speak out on global warming? weird.

free speach is 100% esential to prevent tyrany. Bush is trying to disolve our civil rights, Bush is tyrany, I support both congresional over sight and free speech

It's called political hypocricy. Double Standard. And all politicans LOVE to use it all the time. Liberals only like free speech when it benefits them and the GOP is the same way. PC has nothing to do with free speech.

Bob do you really think YOU have free speech?

Before you criticize people, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you've got a mile-long head start. And you have their shoes.
