Personally, I think the thumbs-up/down is a waste of everyones time... I honestly think there are jerks that just go around giving thumbs down to every answer...

Watch how many I get just for writing this...

It's a lame feature - at best I think the person leaving the rating should be publicized. Then we'll see how those thumbs down drop from appearing all over the board!

Why bother, I've more important things to worry about, or become offended about. People are entitled to their opinions, like I am entitled to mine. I give thumbs down or up where it is applicable, so, I can take it, as well as dish it out.

Anyone who gets offended at it had best leave Answers, because Ratings ARE a part of participating here, up or down! I do think, however, that you should give a thumbs up or down for the RIGHT reasons - NOT because you like or dislike the person, but because you REALLY like or dislike the answer, question, or Best Answer.

No, honestly I don't ever pay attention to what mine or another people get for their answers, because to me I gave my opinion and I know not everyone sees things like I do, so there are bound to be times when someone isn't going to like what I say and give it a thumbs down.

I have to admit, sometimes I do alittle, but I remember that everyone has a different opinion.....
Also - sometimes I realize it's how the person wants the question answered that counts, or how the answerer's interpret the question in the 1st place.

Well, yes, I do.

It hurts my feelings. not so much if I'm answering a questions about my personal beliefs regarding abortion or gay rights or something like that. I know not everyone will agree with me and that's okay. But when I answer questions about things I really know about, like things related to my job and things i've had extensive education regarding, it does offend me. And then I read the other people's questions and try to figure out who has done this to me.
