Ok...so first of all, i have seen the show, Little People Big World, or whatever it's called....but i want to know genetically how this works, not the sex part, i get that. If having dwarfism *srry for saying midgets before, i did not mean to be rude and be politically incorrect* is from recessive genes, meaning that you do not have dominant genes, otherwise the tall dominant genes would show up, how can you pass on dominant genes, of being tall for that matter, if you only have the recessive genes? Wouldn't it be impossible to pass on the dominant genes if you didn't possess them? I might be totally off in my thinking here, but that's why I'm asking....

Yes, the dwarfs may have children and usually the children grow to be of normal height.

I think your grasp of having dominant/recessive genes is incorrect. A person can possess dominant and recessive genes; so to assume that because a person has the physical manifestations of dwarfism means that they do not possess the genetic capability to pass on normal height to offspring would be incorrect.

For example, my husband has brown hair and blue eyes. I have blonde hair and green eyes. Typically, dark hair is dominant. Both of my children have blonde hair and green eyes, but they could very well have children of their own with dark hair, because they likely possess those genes.

A person can possess any number of dominant or recessive genes and it's a genetic crap-shoot as to what gets passed on and what doesn't.

Of course it is possible for dwarfs (midget is an outdated not politically corect term) to have children. Since dwarfism is a recessive trait there is a 25% chance they will have having a dwarf child, a 50% chance of having a normal size child who still carries the gene and a 25% chance of having a normal child who does not carry the gene. They have all the anitomical parts to concieve and carry a baby, although they may need a c-section due to pelvic size. Also, 2 normal size people can have a dwarf child if both parents carry the gene.

yes they can have children, they will either have a tall kid or a small one, however if the baby receives two short genes (one from each parent) they will be tiny and possibly die.

It is just a gene, like any other thing is. like having blue eyes. It is more likely that 2 little people with have a little child. Like if a little person and a tall person have a baby there is a 50 50 chance that it will either be tall or little. Like with anything else that can be genetically passed from mother and father to child. I hope this clears things up for you, if not look it up on the Internet.

Yes, there is a show on I think the Discovery Channel called "Big World" or something like that, and it's about a married couple, each with a different form of dwarfism, who have 3 children: a normal-sized teenage boy, a normal-sized teenage girl, and a teenage boy with dwarfism. It's a good show.

Yes, if they have say achondroplasia they have a 1 in four chance of having normal sized children, 2 in 4 chance of having little people children, and 1 in four chance of a non-viable pregnancy. For other forms of dwarfism I have no clue how it works genetically but in most cases they can have children.

Absolutly. Yes. Dwarfs and midgets are people who have a disease that causes them to be small. they are normal in every other way.
There is a great program on cable that i watch where this dwarf couple have 3 normal size children and 1 dwarf.
the dwarf child is a twin of the oldest normal size child.
it is a very good program that shows the difficulties of being a dwarf and trying to raises children
