I have been day dreaming about making a bigger aqurium and started planning it all out: a 16 ft by 4ft by 4ft tank. But I've run into a slight probelm, where am I supposed to get the Acrylic? because the tank is 4 ft tall the acrylic has to be 1 inch thick.
Witjh this in mind, I searched the internet for a probable seller of acyrlic, all of which had an over all price range of about $3500 for the amount of 1 inch acrylic needed to make this tank.
So I'm asking those who have actrually made their own tank before, where do you get the acrylic to make the tank?

Maybe try a glass shop.... If they don't sell acrylic, it's possible they can tell you where one is. Or order some for you.

I've never had any joy getting acrylic from a glass shop. In the end I went to a signmaker, they have loads of acrylic in different colours too..... Look in your yellow pages and see if you can find a signmaker.
