You are asking two questions.
First, it is safer to learn to love your self personally and sexually; as if, we don't need anything form any one emotionally or materialistically why would we put up with any one. That just means that we are getting smarter.
And second; yes the bar has been raised with less cloths and more makeup, because the first thing that attracts us is what we see, however you can still be blind sided by someone's nature even if they don't look good. But you have to be around them a lot of course.

Yes i do agree with you, back in time, people really didn't care how they looked... they just cared if they got their work done that was to be done. then about 20 years later... they invented a thing called hairspray, (even though I wasn't even born yet), and people carried combs along with them, then a year it became all brand named, makeup, and the battle of the prettiest and richest, they don't even care how people acted, and their personality like people are suppose to do, because scince I was born in the early 90's, that's all they cared about, was looks, they didn't care if someone is funny, or sweet, it was what they wore, or what their hair or face looked like that one day!!!

All guys want are thin girls. They don't know what they are missing! But, actually younger people tend to be more vain, I believe, but as the years go by vanity seems to wane a little bit.

it is kind of nice if they arent wearing stripes and have teeth and a drivers license and a job and a little pride and citizenship oh a sense of humor lol

I totally agree, I have this friend who won't even go to the gas station if she doesn't have her make-up on.
