Yes ! The basic decline of character seems fashionable these days and is promoted by the media most of the time as well as our political (leadership?) nearly all the time so don't be fooled by pre-election promises and false facades. We should know better ,especially after trusting Nixon Clinton and Bush .....
peace out and enjoy the life

Yes, people are getting worse about thier quest for beauty. The proof is in the number of people getting plastic surgery, sometimes more than once and starting in the teenage years.

When you foster a culture based on looks and ownership, people have little time left for others. On the other hand, you can set an example and be yourself. This may support others who are willing to free themselves from the ties of this advertized culture, and puzzle those who can't.

They might get the date, but do they get the guy?
It takes a lot more than "beauty" to hold onto a good guy!
It is the media, I agree. So many young girls are so superficial.
Don't let the media..get to you! Be who you are..

yeah.... it used to be all about personality, but not now, i guess...
i think its because of all the fashion/beauty magazines that are going around, full of perfect girls with perfect bodies and perfect faces...... it just makes everyon else just feel so.... un-perfect, and they wanna be prettier, so they spend their time gazing at their face in the mirror and applying makeup... and... yeah.
I, for one, HATE the idea that everyone has to be beautiful to find a date....
People have personalities too!
Not just pretty faces!

It's the advertising, the movies, the whole media. Our culture is based on how beautiful people are...not how smart, or intelligent, or good.
