I don't really like Frederick's but Victoria's Secret has some nice stuff too, it just depends on what you're looking at. On Amazon, there are all kinds of brands to choose from so you have a much wider range of options. Yes, there will be the cheap looking ones but there are also the classy, nice stuff as well.
I'm not sure which Paris ones you're talking about but I'm sure you can find some on Amazon...

They look cheap because they are sleazy. Fredrick's always has been, but, a long time ago, VS used to be very nice.
Anyway, for nightgowns, try Eileen West (http://www.eileenwest.com/). Their nightgown collection is small, but *beautiful*.
For lingerie, La Perla makes the best (http://www.laperla.com/), not only in design, but in construction, as well.

Well you can try Macey's or J.C. Penney that would probably look cheap but those are like the only other ones. You could try Nordstorms too.
