I was on the pill for about 9 months but then came off for a month. The date I usually had my bleed passed but I did spot a little bit. During that spotting I went back on the pill. I'm worried as I missed my usual bleed but I have heard that you can miss periods when you come off the pill as hormones are trying to balance out again. I'm sure I had protected sex every time during the month I wasn't on the pill. Can anyone assure me that it's completely normal to miss a 'period' once you come off the pill?

Yes, it's normal. When you go off birth control your cycle can get messed up and takes a month or two to stabilize. If you're concerned about pregnancy, use a home pregnancy test with your first pee in the morning.
It's not likely that you're pregnant, but in the event of a positive result, stop taking the pills right away and see your doctor.

It is completely normal to miss a month or have other weirdness in the first month or two after going off the pill - I've been researching this since I went off the pill over the summer, as my husband and I are (so far unsuccessfully) trying to get pregnant. But you should probably take a pregnancy test just to be sure, since nothing except abstinence is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy. It's not good to be on the pill if you are pregnant.

Yes, some women do miss a period. The real question is, did you have unprotected sex during the month you were off the pill? If the answer is yes, you cannot rule out the possibility that you are pregnant. You can either wait it out, or go see your doctor. Over the counter pregnancy test are very unrelible until about month 3.
