How do I "zip" a text document?

If I'm told to create a report, then zip it, and send it via email, how do I zip the text document (report)?

if you are running windows xp, you can right click on the file that you want to zip and click on send to, compressed zip file. And that will compress the file so that you can email it. If the file is not that large, it would be more suitable just to attach the text file to the email, with the attach key.

For "zipping" a document you have various options one is to download a program to do it like WinZip, Winrar or WinAce (between others) you can look for them at download.com and when you install them you just have to do rigth clic in the file add look for Add To Zip File or something like that
