I dropped my birth control pill down the drain (the one I was supposed to take today). There is obviously no way I can replace it, so I am just going to continue tomorrow with Sunday's pill. Is this okay? Will it have an affect on the effectiveness of the pill by not taking one pill for the month?

Most birth control pills are designed to be 90% effective at half the dose, so missing one only slightly increases your chance of getting pregnant. However just to be safe you should avoid unprotected sex until at least Tuesday, this will give your body time to build up the hormones again. Or you could just take Sunday's pill today, then Mondays pill tomorrow, and on Monday call you doctor to see if she has an extra one, or can bump up your refill schedule by a day.

It this was one of the active pills and not the reminder pills (last seven sugar pills in a 28 day pack) than no you cannot skip it and expect the pill to be effective. Yes, even missing one day can allow you to become pregnant. Take tomorrow's pill tonight and call the doc on Monday morning to see if it will be necessary to start into your new pack to get the last pill of the 21 day cycle of pills. If you have any further doubts or questions, call the pharmacy if it is a 24 hour one or maybe try just calling a 24 hour pharmacy. Also, the package insert may tell you what you should do in this case.

you should have just taken the pill that you would've taken tomorrow and then picked up your new script at the end of the month and pick up there. never skip a day. In fact, if it was me, I would take tomorrows pill now, and then pick up like normal in the morning or whenever your normal time is to take it.

Usually the effectiveness of the pill is only compromised if you miss two or more days.

Yasmin BC site:

What if I forget to take the Pill or do not take it exactly on time?
If you MISS 1 active pill:

Take it as soon as you remember. Take the next pill at your regular time. This means you may take two pills in one day.
You do not need to use a backup birth control method if you have sex.
If you MISS 2 active pills in a row in WEEK 1 OR WEEK 2 of your pack:

Take two pills on the day you remember and two pills the next day.
Then take one pill a day until you finish the pack.
You MAY BECOME PREGNANT if you have sex in the 7 days after you miss pills. You MUST use another birth control method (such as condoms or spermicides) as a backup for those 7 days.

This is the pill I use. Look yours up to get the specifics
