fighting with eachother and neverending insults? Ok since offense is easily taken, how about...what do you think about that way of love expression amongst families?

I'm not referring to myself just to let ya know...but I've had friends who's families are like that, and they just say that they're expressing love. Doesn't make sense to me, wanna know if it makes sense to you.

Fighting with each other & trading insults is not an expression of love.....it's an expression of disrespect and, probably, dislike. It's also degrading...People who love each other do not treat their loved ones this way. I have many married friends who wouldn't dream of calling their spouses or children names. They have disagreements but stick to the issue & try to resolve them.

People who fight & call each other names do it because they don't know any better. They were probably raised in a family that handled their problems in this way instead of sitting down and discussing the problem like mature adults. They never learned how to cope appropriately with anything unpleasant.

Now they are teaching their children that this is the way to behave.

Love among families will be there no matter what... as the saying goes blood is thicker than water...and in business it is called nepotism where they get their own relatives and families to run the business. Families like father, mother, sister, brother, auntie, uncle grandma, grandpa will always have some issues that they will not agree-on or something that they will have a different opinion about and they will argue, shout and fight but one day they will be friends again... if it becomes un-controllable just accept the fact that you can choose your friends but not your relative.. so try as much to just accept them...you have no choice anyway..lol

we dont fight but we do tease each other a lot. if it comes across as an insult to someone that is on the outside looking in then thats their problem. my family loves each other very much and there is no changing that. everybody expresses their feelings differently so there is nothing wrong with having a little loving banter

I think it is very sad!!! Unfortunetley there are families out there like that though.

When a family functions in that manner, the children in the house hold suffer tremendously! They don't learn effective social skills, and it will quite possibly effect them in every area of their lives.

Counceling!! It is a cycle. And, it is abuse.

What makes you think insults and fights are an expression of love? What sort of dysfunctional cave were you raised in?
