It depends on what state you live in. Some states have Womens Clinics and Planned Parenthood clinics that do exams and give free contraception. I know that California participates, but I don't know about other states... I think it might depend on state law.

As far as what pill is the best, it really depends on the person. Some women are more sensitive to hormones than others are, and that makes all the difference in the world to finding the right pill. A doctor will have to do an exam and ask you a series of health questions, and then he can help you determine what would be best from there. After that, it's really just a matter of trial and error. I went through four different kinds of BCP's before I found one that didn't cause me too many problems.

As people have already said you can get free birth control pills at planned parenthood centers or county health clinics. Make sure you talk with someone about your health history before taking any birth control. Some birth control pills can give you major mood swings and even decrease your sex drive make sure they take the time to be caring. Also don't be afraid to ask the doctor or nurse practitioner questions. That's their job and if they don't take the time I would try to find some place else.

Contact a Planned Parenthood Clinic in your area; there is no definitive answer as to what is the best birth control, it is completely on an individual basis after the patient discusses health history etc. with physician.

You can get them at a Planned Parenthood Clinic or a local Health Department. I have tried a lot of different kinds, I found that Ortho works best in pills, but I am on Depo Provera shot. I love it, not only does it work great, but I don;t have a period anymore. Which is awesome!!!

Good Luck!

Free birth control hmm Planned parenthood may be the answer. Also there are other free clinics in the phonebook you can check out. If your income is low or nil they will cover the cost its called a sliding scale.

Contact your local planned parenthood - they may be able to assist you in getting the pills at little or no cost to you. They base your price on your income. They also provide information and counceling, as well as doctors and exams.

As for the best pills, it all depends on you. Each person is different, and it is trial and error. You should speak to a professional to find out which one will work best for you.

Good luck!!!

Your county health clinic can get them for you. It is free and confidential to everyone, including parents, if you need to know. They can also make sure you have a secondary form of birth control, aka condoms, and they take the time to explain everything to you in detail.
