'My mother and I' is the correct phrase to begin your sentence with.
A very reliable way to check your answer is to eliminate the first person (my mother) and the article (and), so that you are left with just the first-person objective (I or me). Finally, eliminate words such as 'together' from the sentence. You would never use the sentence, 'Me spend Christmas'. Therefore, 'I spend Christmas' is correct grammatically (though it is a sentence fragment).
We may now conclude safely that 'My mother and I spend Christmas together' is the correct sentence.

My mother and I is proper. Little secret here as to which word you use in any situation like this. Take away the other person from the sentence. Me spend Christmas.....No! I spend Christmas.... Know what I mean?

Also, I explained in a way that is easily understandable way before Cutie Pie did. Fact is, the question asked was about a compound subject with personal pronouns, not objects of the preposition/phrase.

my mother and I. the rule is: Say the sentence with only I or me (whichever you're using) whichever makes more sense is the right one.
"I spend christmas together" doesn't make sense, but it sounds better than "me spend christmas together"

good luck!

You and your mother are the subject of the sentence so it would be "My mother and I spend Christmas together." because both of you are doing the action (spending)

You would use "me" if your mother was the only one that was "spending" ex. "My mother spends Chrsitmas with me."

Hope I helped.
