I have a strong feeling if the Democrats regain control of Congress, there will be very, very strong pressure on Bush to axe Rumsfeld. The military, in its own subtle ways, is calling for Rummy to either step down or be fired. The Democrats won't immediately pull our troops out of Iraq but there will be a definite plan and timeline for them to come home.

Isn't that the million dollar question. Bush opened Pandora's box when he invaded the Iraq hornets nest and re-ignited a Shiite/Sunni civil war that Saddam had kept in check with brutal force. Once Saddam was gone their was no one to keep the Iraqi Sunni & Iraqi Shiites from fighting and if the US military leaves that Iraqi Civil War could easily erupt into a Middle East civil war between Sunnis and Shiites and that will be much worse than the current Iraq war. So when the GOP loses the Democrats will be damned if they keep US troops in Iraq and damned if they bring them home.

The extreme left liberals promise to cut-and-run as quickly as possible.
And North Korea will likely sell nuclear weapons to countries that support terrorism, who will then nuke either New York or DC, which will really anger the mainstream American public, which will call for the return of Republicans to the majority and retaliation against terrorists,.... again.
A repeat of what happened when Clinton was in office, except now they will have nuclear weapons.

We will be closer to the "cut and run" solution advocated by many Democrats. Consequently, the terrorists will celebrate a great victory and will feel more emboldened and will take further actions to promote their cause and impose Islamic rule over the "non-believers," as if their cause had something to do with God's will.
These extremists are nuts and need to be defeated, period.

We will pull the troops out of Iraq, charge those no good meanies with war crimes and execute all of them and then Iraq will be able to return to the cute bunnies everywhere, chocolate rivers and lollipop rainbows that they enjoyed before we went over and started killing all the women and babies.
There, is that what you wanted to hear?

IF they lose (you know what they say about assuming, don't you?) dems will screw it up even more than it already is. They will leave the Iraqi people to fend for themselves. It will be a HUGE blood bath, the terrorists will have a new country to live and train in, not to mention the new recruits they will MAKE join them.

I don't think they will. If they do I expect to see Iraq return to a dictatorship.
