The Bible is a historical book of human interpretations of God's relationships to humankind. As we error, so there are errors in the Bible. The truth they point to remains the same - somewhat like their being potholes in a road but the road still leads home.
God will always love you. Love is not a matter of sexual orientation, but of a blossoming relationship with the Almighty who died to save you.
God bless you.

only the lessons, not the words, are important. Read any childrens book and you learn lessons for life. The bible is just a collection of childrens books. That is why there is all the fantastic stuff in it. To get people to read it. Back then, being gay was weird and people needed to know that the main storybook character was not weird, so they said it is bad. The problem is today, people think that is in not a story, but real.

the part of the bible that says sexual relations between two men is detestable or a sin is in the old testament. (it also says things like a rebellious son should be stoned to death!!!) read the new testament it goes to say that the old testament is null and void. basically the 10 commandments are rules for life but u can be forgiven for breaking them. (being gay is not a commandment) in the book of Matthew and revelations is basically where it tells you how to live a good christian life and please god.. it does not say NE thing about same sex relations being a sin. i believe that the people who say that it does twist the word around to fit their own purposes!! there for i believe if you live your life with love, faith, and ask for forgiveness for your sins u will get into heaven. i also believe that homosexuals where put on the earth by god to teach the rest of us how to love, respect, and accept all people. i am a straight christian and this is my view on homosexuality, i know this is not the typical view of most people who call themselves christian but i don't think people like that deserve to call them self's christian. god and the bible is all about love and accepting the people around you. god loves EVERYONE!!!! anyways as my dad always told me, "God don't make no junk!"

I think God will love you no matter what. So, I think parts of the bible are true. God is suppose to be a loving God and as long as you believe and accept him, I think he would love anyone and any ones capable of going to Heaven.

I don't think for one moment that the loving God I was raised to believe in would expect me to go through life without the love and companionship of a spouse. I don't Believe for one moment that he'd be so cruel as to make me gay and expect me to carry out my life without every acting on my natural impulses. God loves all his children, even the gay ones (after all he made us). Don't believe all the mumbo jumbo hate crap that the bible pounders and puritans are pushing! They'll twist and change anything to suit their purposes.

Most of the New testament references to homosexuality are written by Paul and were mistranslated by Power Hungry priests who would have another set of witches to burn.
The only reference that cannot be easily dismissed as a translation error is in Romans1:27
"And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. "
This however does not mention that homosexuality is a sin, or is wrong. In fact Romans 1 is a big list of things which people would find terrible and "sinful" or rather "unseemly". Then Paul catches everybody in their judgementalism
"Therefore thou art inexcusable O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. "

Well, like I always say: humans can't even get a simple game of "Telephone" right, let alone an entire book that was passed down from word to mouth through generations before it was finally written down, then translated through dozens of languages before it finally became what it is today... it isn't expected to be 100% accurate, is it? I wish the so-called "Christians" would understand that times, they are a-changin'

the modern bible was published in 1611 by a committee of 54 scholars appointed by King James VI AND I.( he was king of scotland, ireland and england all at the same time. back then they were seperate nations.) although they were scholars who spoke many languages they were only men. man is known to make kistakes everyday along with women. i am not saying that the bible is wrong and that's it. what i am saying is that it is a book translated several thousand times in history by man and that there are personal interputations in there and personal beliefs as well. this version was published in 1611 when there were certain things that were still believed to be taboo. these people believed in witches and hanged and burned many innocent people on that belief. if they thought those things what do you think they thought of gays? i can tell you it was not good. there is no way i can believe that go would create man to just let him burn in hell for all eternity. yes it is true that we are people with the right to choose our own path and sometimes people will choose the path to not believe in god or to worship satan or other pagan gods and that i am sorry to say is a sin that is not forgivable. in order to be forgiven you must first believe in the god that will be forgiving you and then give your heart and soul to him completely. that is what i have done. now i do believe there is a message in the bible but of course this is my belief. i feel that each person who reads the bible is going to come up with their own interputation and that is what you should do. you should find the message that was left to you by god. he has left a message for each and everyone one of us. it is our job to find it and live by it. i know for a fact that god made me gay. i know that i was born that way because as long as i can remember i have been gay. so why make me gay if i never have a chance of going to heaven. that makes no sense. my message is to right by others and treat them as i would want to be treated. to have compassion and to understand that forgiveness is the way to true happiness. to not believe in or to take any other symbol as god. that there is only one true god. to believe in his son JESUS CHRIST who died on the cross for all of sins. that we are forgiven just by asking him for forgiveness. to love yourself and others. to always lend a helping hand to those in need no matter who they are. to not be predjudice against someone different than myself. not to judge others, that is only done by God. these are few things i found in my message from god among others. find your message and junk the crap and beliefs of old dead people who translated this great book almost 400 years ago.

I think everyone's perception of the divine is different. For some fundamentalist christians "god hates deem gay folks." For others their image of the divine/divines is that of a much more accepting deity.
