I'm from Missouri, and in Missouri there are two candidates running for the Senate, both are neck and neck. I got a call today, it was an automated voice asking me if I was going to vote for Jim Talent (Republican) I said "no". It then asked do I belive in the right to live, I said "no", because I belief in Womens right of choice. It then asked, "do I believe terrorist have the same rights as americans", I said "no". Then it said I should vote for Jim Talent because Claire McCaskill (Democrat) is against the Patriot Act. I was so mad because the Patriot Act is more entailed than just Rights of Terrorist. I can't believe how low the Republicans have gone to try to win the race here in Missouri. And what's sad is that there are people out there in Missouri that will recieve that same call and be swayed by the Republican Party pushing Biased and Incomplete knowledge. Democrats aren't using this disgusting tactic. Do you agree tht most Repbuicans are nothing but slime?

Yep. Better watch your Vote if the machine is Diebold.. They've already stolen elections in the past...

It is slimy - I would expect nothing less from the party to which the court-appointed president belongs. Do you support the Patriot Act? No? You must support the terrorists. Do you believe the war in Iraq is the right thing to do? No? Then you don't support the troops and want to surrender to the terrorists. Do you believe the tax cuts that primarily benefits the top 1% of the wealthiest Americans is a good thing? No? You want to raise taxes! It's all the worst version of smoke and mirrors I could ever imagine anyone would fall for!
McCaskill wins! :-)

Yes, I got a call here in Virginia from one of those Focus on the Family type groups as well. But I have also gotten ones from Democratic groups as well, for the local congress election. That one was a real person, but they asked : are you going to vote for X (dem) who supports rights for all Americans or incumbent Y (rep) who is corrupt. I told him I was voting for the dem, but the question was awful and very misleading because no one is going to say I am voting for the corrupt man! He apologized and told me he had to ask the question exactly as it was written in front of him

Being English, I was really shocked when I saw a report recently on some of the tactics that American politicians use to garner votes. I saw some of the Adverts that run, and was really shocked, by the underhand tactics that seem to come into play.

Yes, most of them are, but this is the FIRST time a mid-term election has been so hotly debated with so much at stake for the REpukes.
They're fighting for their very lives...or is that livelihoods?
They don't want to loose their jobs, their cooshy retirement packages, their heafty medical coverage and all those kickbacks!
They'll stop at nothing to dig their claws in as deep as they'll go and draw as much blood as possible.
These people are DESPERATE and DISGUSTING!

This is called a "Push Poll" and is used to try to change the minds of voters who are not 100% committed to a certain candidate. Although they are in the minority of their party, some Republicans support gay rights.

my phone has been flooded with junk calls from all the candidates....all day long! I am going to vote, that is for sure...and it will NOT be for ANY Republican, bet on that! I actually listened to a few of them...mud, mud, mud. Sure sign of desparation on the Republican's part....they should be desparate, and they should all be in jail shortly...I certainly hope.

Ummm...... why didn't you just hang up the phone? Then you never would've had to listen to that nonsense.
I'd call my phone company and ask them why they let a call like this get through. Worse then telemarketers.
