Fake - we believe in being environmentally friendly in our household. Plus, the fake trees look so life like now.
We used to get the real tree up until about 4 or 5 years ago. I found they would quit taking water after only a few days and then the needles would start to fall off. I was afraid by Christmas day we would be burning the house down.
Also, I hated cleaning up the mess it made afterwards. The fake tree is so much easier.

A fake "tree" is not a tree. The tradition is supposed to be for a real tree to bring nature into the home.
Fake does not save the environment. Trees come from farms! They are not cut down in the forest or destroying any forest. A fresh tree will not lose needles if kept away from heat and kept watered.
Once you take a real one down, it can go back to the environment

I like real trees but we put ours up so early that all the needles fall off before Christmas so we use a fake tree.

I love real trees because of the smell but last year my parents got a rug in the living room so they went and bought a fake one because they didn't want all the sap and needles all over our new rug, but I love it it looks real and its very pretty when it is all decorated. Besides no more watering or sweeping 6 times a day.

Some would like fake because of the easy clean up.
I like real ones because of the fresh pine smell, having to change the water every morning, cleaning the needles and wiping them off the packages. And real trees bring in more of the holiday spirit then you'll ever know. The colorful lights on the tree, ornaments getting sticky from the sap.

I like real trees but don't like the idea of growing trees just to cut them down for Christmas trees. I watched an HBO special a few years ago called " Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" and I took an idea from this.Instead of cutting a whole tree, the Otter family pruned a branch and had a Christmas twig. This way they enjoyed their tree year after year. I've elaborated a bit over the years...now I prune 2 limbs from my tree and tape them together. This gives me a bushier looking tree without the waste. There's a picture of the last one on my 360 page group photos. Whatever you decide, enjoy and embrace the holidays! Peace to you.

Real trees, they are like man, a blind man said I see trees as walking as man. You can look at a tree and see, if the leaves are rich and full of life or dying, or crooked and turned.
You can see the likeness of man, and his life if you study the tree.
Also the tree of life will be in Heaven.
And trees on both sides of the river bearing fruit for the healing of the nations.
God is life. I would think he likes a live tree, not a dead one.
Ponder this......
