So there i was sitting in history like any normal day. Are teacher ask what we think of illegal immigrants and illegal immigration. everyone kept saying how bad it was and then the girl with the huge spanish accent raises her hand. Are teacher said alright what do yoiu think. She replied i think illegal immigration is good if you just want a better life. i am an illegal immigrant as the rest of my family. we have been for five years. her and her family are great people but no one new they were illegals. they become legal citizens very soon. I have a whole new view of immigrants that sneek in. now i realize we should not base immigrants in how they came in but why they came in and what they did once in.

Its fine if they are legal or become legal. But Why do they wait so long to become a legal citizens. Why not do so right away. I think they should make it a law that they need to become a citizen before they cross the country. American money can be used for other stuff besides supporting the illegals that aren't doing anything. If we knew it was being put to good use like what your teacher is doing that would be great! But its not always the case. Especially the state area where I live. Some of them take this country forgranted, and and don't even realize it.
But I don't think that illegals should get american money like social security and benefits illegally. Especially since they are not american citizens.

Immigration is not bad at all, but doing it illegally can be a problem, especially when it is as easy as walking across a certain border to enter a country. Illegal immigration is broader than just Mexicans crossing the border. It applies to people coming from other countries too, but now the most common face of an "illegal immigrant" is the poor Mexican. We understand that there are rules that when broken, has consequences. That said, it is NOT a bad thing. There are many opportunities here in the U.S. for everyone, including illegals. They are NOT taking any body's job - the job is not yours to be taken. It belongs to the person who owns the company and does the hiring. Honestly, there are many jobs out there that many Americans (by birth right) feel that is beneath them, but many immigrants from all walks of life, regardless of how they enter the country are willing to do just to earn a (often less than) decent living.
I do agree however that there has to be a way to control the number of Mexicans who cross the borders everyday to come here. If you are going to allow them to do it enter illegally and stay (and be entitled to all the benefits), then do it across the board and let illegals form Europe, Africa, Asia and other places stay as well. Otherwise let's find a way to control the flow.

I don't think illegal immigration is bad, it is just illegal, unfortunately. I am so glad your teacher gave this student a chance to express her feelings. Yes, it does open our eyes a lot. I agree with your feelings completely. Good thoughts and I like the way you expressed it.
My real feeling about is whole thing is that it is based on fear. People are afraid that someone will sneak over here and kill us all. That is the biggest fear since we are at war, therefore, they want to stop the immigrants of any country.

i dont mind people coming here from other countries. BUT, they do drain the resources out of this country. my mom was disabled n tried to get her disability, she had to wait for like 4 or 5 years until she could get it. she made friends with some illegal mexicans n they told her that they only had to wait 4 a few months, pplus they got food stamps, is that fair? hell no its not. how can someone from a different country come here, not even go to school or work, n get social security/disability? they shouldnt run away from their hometown, they should fix their problems in they home country.

think of this..they pay taxes just like you and most of them have to survive doing menial jobs, so i believe they should be given a chance after all america has been a country of immigrants both legal and illegal
